KitchenAid Food Processors

KitchenAid has 2 groups of food processors and four differnt models total. For a smaller food processor, the KitchenAid line has a Compact Food Processor, and it comes in either a 3 Cup Mini Food Processor or 7 Cup Mini, which also has an option for an additional Mini Bowl. Both come in the full array of colors available. The photo to the left is of the 7 Cup model, and here are the features:

The Mini model is about 14.3" high, 7.3" wide and 9.1 inches deep. It weighs in at 10.6 pounds.
At the writing of this article, the list price for the 7-cup mini was119.99, but we have seen it as low as $108 with free shipping. Also, the 3-Cup mini lists for 49.99, and you can pick up one of these fine choppers for about $43 or $44.

In the larger group, there are also two category sizes: a 9 Cup model and the largest, a 12 Cup model.

Overall, the 3 Cup mini was just too small for our household. We have six children, and we just couldn't see having a processor that small. It would be ideal for small chopping jobs, for nuts, or quick salsas.

In our household we went for the 12 Cup Wide Mouth version, and we LOVE it. We've even prepared some soup bases in there, and they were delicious.
